SECURITY SYSTEM INSTRUCTIONS

DSC-3000


1. ARMING ERROR

An error tone will sound if the system is unable to arm.  This will happen in the system is not ready to arm, (a door is open or movement in front of a motion detector) or if an incorrect user code has been entered.  If this happens press the (#) and try again. 


NOTE: Any time you press the * and any other number you will need to press the # to return to normal operation.  Also if an error is made when entering your code press the # to clear it out and return to normal.  If the keypad is beeping press the # to silence.  


2. BYPASS

To bypass zones, enter * 1 and the zone numbers to be bypassed. i.e. 01 for zone 1, 16 for zone 16. If the 0 key is pressed twice instead of a zone number,
all zone bypasses will be removed. If the 9 key is pressed twice, the last group
of zones which was bypassed will be recalled. Press [#] to return to Ready.


3. CHIME

Enter * 6 and your Master Code, 6 to turn the door chime feature ON and OFF. When the command is entered, the keypad will beep 3 times if the feature is being enabled and will sound one long beep if the feature is being disabled.
Press [#] to return to Ready.


4. CODES (example: *5 - master code - 01- new code - #)

Up to 15 access codes in addition to the Master Code can be entered from the
keypad.

Press * 5 and the Master Code. The “Program” light will flash and the zone lights
will show which codes have already been programmed.

To enter a new code or
change an existing code, first press the user number 01 to 16 you want to add or change and then enter the new 4 digit code.

To erase a code,press the user number you wish to erase and then press **** instead of a 4 digit code.

Press [#] to return to Ready.


5. DISARMING ERROR

If you enter an incorrect code the system will not disarm, press the (#) and enter the correct code.


4. FALSE ALARM

If the alarm was accidental, enter your Access Code to silence the alarm, then call your monitoring station to avoid a dispatch.


5. INSTANT ARM

Press * then 9 and enter your code to arm the system without any entry delay time. NOTE:  This has no effect on the exit time delay.  (When using the *9 Instant arm you will still have whatever exit time to leave, but there will not be any entry time delay.)


6. MEMORY

When an alarm occurs the Memory indicator will turn on.  To view which zone caused the alarm press the * then 3.  When finished press # to return to normal.

The alarm memory will be cleared when the panel is re-armed.
Press [#] to return to Ready.


7. SMOKE DETECTOR RESET

Press * then hold down the 4 key for several seconds. If the smoke has
cleared, the smoke detector will reset and the fire zone light will go out when the 4 key is released. If the smoke has not cleared from the detector, open a window or door and fan clean air into the detector and try resetting again.


8. TROUBLE

When a trouble condition is detected the Trouble indicator will turn on and the keypad will beep every 10 seconds.  Press the # to silence the beeps. Press the * then 2 in order to view the trouble condition, each zone indicates a different problem.  Below are the trouble conditions by number which they will appear on the touch pad.  The zone lights indicate the type of trouble condition.

Call for service or replace the back up battery in the main control box
 2 NO AC POWER
Check your fuse box or circuit breakers; call for service if the trouble cannot be corrected.
 3DAY ZONE TROUBLE
Call for service.
 4TELEPHONE LINE PROBLEM
This condition will be cleared when the trouble on the telephone line is corrected.  If this trouble does not clear itself automatically call for service
 5UNSUCCESSFUL COMMUNICATION
This trouble will be cleared if the system again tries to call the monitoring station and is able to complete the call.  If this trouble does not clear itself automatically, call for service.
 6BELL CIRCUIT FAILURE
 Call for service.
 7SMOKE DETECTOR CIRCUIT TROUBLE
Call for service.
 8LOSS OF TIME AND DATE
 See below User Functions/ Time and Date

Press # to return to normal 


9. USER FUNCTIONS/TIME AND DATE

(example: *6 - master code - 1 - HH-MM-MM-DD-YY - #)

Press the * then 6, enter the master code, press 1 then the time;  HOURS, MINUTES, MONTH, DAY and YEAR.  Then #.  Time should be entered in Military format.   EXAMPLE:  *6 master code -1-10-05-03-01-06 - #  (10:05 am March 01, 2006) for 10:05 PM enter 22-05-03-01-06)

**If you have the LCD touch pad, press the * then 6, enter your master code then use the < > to TIME AND DATE.  Press * to select then change the time.  Press # to return to normal.
